E3 2018: Elder Scrolls: Blades

This is not the Elder Scrolls game you’re looking for. With the next major entry in the franchise years away, Elder Scrolls Blades will be out this year to keep you satisfied. If you’re looking for something similar to Skyrim, you’ll be a bit disappointed. Based on the demo at E3, the basics of the series are still there. It’s still […]

E3 2018: Blood and Truth (Playstation VR)

As someone who hasn’t used VR in over a year, Blood and Truth took some getting used to. After finishing the tutorial, I was getting back in the swing of things. When the developer was describing it to me, I was instantly curious. Rather than pressing a button to reload your gun, there’s ammo on your chest that you have […]

E3 2018: Beat Saber (Playstation VR)

Guitar Hero with lightsabers? Yes please. As someone who doesn’t own a Playstation VR, this game not only impressed me, but it makes me want a headset so I can play it. I got to play two songs for my demo and they were both fantastic. There’s a simple tutorial that teaches you the basics of the game. Using two […]

E3 2018: Tetris Effect (Playstation VR)

A Tetris game by the creator of Lumines? Sign me up! The trailer for Tetris Effect not only left me impressed, but excited to see what Tetsuya Mizuguchi can bring to Tetris. Prior to starting it, I hadn’t played Tetris in a long time. It took me a match or two to get readjusted, but once I did, I loved it. Right off […]

My E3 2018 Experience

As I mentioned in my post about Xbox, I went into my first E3 open-minded. Like most gamers, I’ve always wanted to go to E3, but I heard that lines can be long and the chances of playing lots of stuff can be low. I’d also heard horror stories from last year of lines for game being five to six […]

How Xbox Impressed Me at E3 2018

Before I start diving in, I just want to say I’ve never owned an Xbox console. It’s not because I have some weird agenda against them, but because of how I grew up. My first console was a PlayStation 2 and my first handheld was a GameBoy Advanced. I’ve always stuck with Nintendo and PlayStation, but I’ve always been aware […]

E3 2018: Kingdom Hearts III

Did I get choked up during my demo? Maybe a little. As someone who’s loved the series since the beginning, it was surreal for to be my first demo at my first E3. If you’ve played the series before, you know what to expect. The demo lasted roughly ten minutes, but I easily could’ve spent more time than that. The […]

E3 2018 Predictions: Third Parties

With E3 2018 fast approaching, it’s time to go through some more predictions. For the third parties, I’ll go through the ones that have press conferences. EA To say EA has had an interesting couple months is a bit of an understatement. Between micro-transactions problems to Anthem‘s development, the publisher is in need of some good buzz and they’re already on their way. Some obvious predictions are the presence of Anthem and Battlefield V. They’ll both probably get new trailers, looks at gameplay, and potentially public betas before launch. As for Anthem, it wouldn’t be surprising if they announced a launch window or specific date. Other than those, the obvious EA Sports titles will get the spotlight (Madden, NHL, etc.). One thing I’m hoping […]

E3 2018 Predictions: Nintendo

Saving the best for last, Nintendo is the last conference before E3. From the sounds of it, their conference will be primarily on Switch games coming this year, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they announced games for 2019. To start, If they have anything for the 3DS, they’ll probably have that first. An update on Luigi’s Mansion could happen with a possible release date. Other than that, an update on Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey could happen. I wouldn’t expect a ton of new game announcements other than another remake. As for the Switch, there’s going to be a ton of stuff announced. Details on Smash Bros. could consist of gameplay, a look into […]

Bethesda Teasing a Fallout Announcement?

With E3 fast approaching, publishers are starting to tease announcements prior to the show. In a tweet on the official Bethesda Twitter account, one of the “Please Stand By” screens is being used to tease something Fallout related. #PleaseStandBy pic.twitter.com/5IUjkURCcM — Bethesda Game Studios (@BethesdaStudios) May 29, 2018 There’s a lot of speculation swirling around this tweet with one theory […]

God of War Review

After all the hype, God of War has finally arrived and the wait has been completely worth it. The franchise has been around since 2005 and this latest iteration mixes up the typical formula in more ways than one. It brings an incredible story with fantastic gameplay that’s deep and satisfying. All the changes made for this installment pay off […]

E3 2018 Predictions: Playstation

E3 is almost upon us which means it’s time to predict what’s going to be announced. In terms of Playstation, they already set the stage for what to expect, but that doesn’t mean they’ll announce more stuff. Here are some of my predictions for other possible announcements. The Big Four Thanks to an official post on the Playstation Blog, we already […]
